Expert Presentation Board Reproduction

Expert Presentation BoardTrust DRS in Doylestown to enlarge and reproduce your expert presentation boards to really impress your audience.  The fact that you need a presentation board by itself underscores the importance of the illustration that is on the board.  So why not make sure your illustration has the maximum impact you are seeking.

We recommend starting with a foam core board.  They come in a variety of thicknesses and sizes, so you can have designed to sit on an easel or on a table top with an easel back attached.  The foam core boards are ridged so they hold up well and are more durable and weather resistant than card stock.  We also recommend direct print on the foam core board.  That way you can avoid getting some unsightly wrinkles on the board which can happen when illustration is printed on a separate sheet of paper and then glued to the foam core surface.

Direct printing on foam core boards does require both special equipment and expertise to get it right.  You need a flat-bed printer in order to print directly onto rigid materials like foam core boards.  The foam core boards require some special handling since finger prints on the unprinted surface can interfere with the printing process.

Trust DRS to be your presentation board headquarters.  We specialize in foam core presentation boards and we have the printing equipment to direct print onto the foam core boards for that expert, presentation board look, that you are seeking.

Foam Core Posters

Custom Cutout

Gatorboard Foam Core Posters

Traditional posters are generally made from a poster grade card stock paper.  They are rectangular in shape and are flexible so that they can be stapled to round telephone poles.  Today posters can come in a variety of materials, shapes, and thicknesses including gatorboard foam core posters.  Posters can have an easel back glued on to make them self-standing.

Foam core is starting to be recognized as an ideal material for posters because it adds further versatility to the poster sign concept.  Since it is generally thicker material it can be shaped and it is more ridged than poster board so it holds up better.  Foam core is also more weatherproof than card stock and it can be printed on both sides.

As a result, it is easy to understand why foam core is starting to become more popular as poster material, which also poses a challenge for some printers.  Because foam core is ridged it cannot fit into a traditional roll-fed printer, which incidentally are the type of printers in many small print shops.  The workaround for form core request can be to print the message on a roll-fed sheet of paper and then glue it onto the surface of the foam core.

At DRS In Doylestown, they have the special print equipment that enables them to print directly onto the foam core surface.  At DRS they believe that if you want to use foam core for signs and posters, you should make sure it is direct printed onto the foam core itself and not just pasted on.  They even have equipment that can shape the foam core as well to make a foam core poster truly unique.   That is why when you are looking to use foam core for your signs and posters, the place to go is DRS because they know how to print directly on foam core for a better-looking sign or poster.

A Cruse Scanner with Super Powers? Yes, Thanks to a Fortunate Miss-Fortune

Large Format Scanning

A fortunate miss-fortune lands DRS the most up to date Cruse Scanner in the country

What began as a tragic event morphed into something special for Digital Reprographics Solutions (DRS) in Doylestown, PA.  The company already had a Cruse Scanner that was actually purchased at a business liquidation auction.  It was a great addition to the DRS in-house machine line up and new service offering of large format, high-quality scanning. The Cruse scanner is widely regarded as one of the best scanners was now commercially available in the Philadelphia suburbs.  DRS rolled out the red carpet for the scanner by setting up a special room with dark gray walls (for white balance) in their shop to house the Cruse scanner. This room has attracted a number of specialty clients and projects who were knowledgeable of the Cruse Scanner and the quality levels of its scans.

As you can imagine things were going well, very well. Then the misfortune came and made a good thing great!

The misfortune occurred when a storm came through Doylestown and DRS incurred a lightning strike which basically disabled and ruined the sensitive electronics of the Cruse Scanner.  The fortunate part of the story is that DRS was fully insured for such occurrences.  The original Cruse Scanner was beyond repair.  As a result, the insurance covered the expense of obtaining a brand new Cruse Scanner from Germany, where they are made.

And, since Cruse scanners are custom made, Mark and Mike were able to add features to the brand new Cruse scanner to make it even more powerful and valuable.  As a result, DRS was able to obtain the most up to date Cruse Scanner in North America worth over one hundred thousand dollars!

What makes the scanner so great? You have to see it to believe it. The scans are incredible with the new lighting kit that can pick up and emphasis shadows and highlights creating an incredible scan. People are now coming from near and far to have their scans done by the new custom made DRS Cruse Scanner in Doylestown, PA.

The Cruse Scanner Rumor

Coming Soon to DRS

Rumor has it that a brand new state of the art Cruse Scanner is on the way to Doylestown, from across the sea in Germany where they are designed and manufactured.

Rumor also has it that when it arrives, it will be one of the most up to date Cruse Scanners in the Eastern part of the United States, and perhaps even all of America.

Rumor has it that this Cruse Scanner has been custom designed to include the special features that customers are seeking in a high-quality scanner.

Rumor has it that the Cruse Scanner coming to DRS in Doylestown has an advanced digital lighting system designed to give users more control over how light can enhance the scanning process by providing depth and eliminating shadows as needed.

Rumor has it that most Cruse Scanners in the US are part of museums, Universities and Government Offices and are not available for commercial use, unlike the new Cruse Scanner coming to DRS in Doylestown.

And since the Cruse Scanner is due to arrive at DRS in Doylestown later this summer; it should be very clear very soon which rumors are actually facts.

Print Marketing is the Foundation of Experience

Print Marketing is the Foundation of Experience

We are celebrating National Zoo and Aquarium Month and the impact print marketing has on visitor experiences.

When was the last time you visited a zoo or aquarium?  Likely you have childhood memories of a visit or class trip.  The anticipation of seeing animals from across the world like the elephant, lion or penguin was enough to keep you up the night before!  For kids today the exhibits has transformed in the full visitor experiences.

There is a lot more that goes into that experience than meets the eye.  It’s not just fun animals and exhibits, a lot of it has to do with the entire experience that is created from the billboards, posters, and banners strategically placed around town and the zoo to attract your attention, to the floor decals placed throughout the property, to the printed designs around the actual exhibit.

Successful marketing for zoos and aquariums is more than just showing animals, it’s all about using a variety of printed materials to create a memorable experience. Below are a few of the printed items that make your zoo/aquarium experience memorable.

Enlarged Maps

Most zoos still have printed maps that you pick up when you first enter showing you the layout of the park and helping you plan your trip effectively.  In a world that relies heavily on technology for navigation having a map that you can hold in your hands, draw on, and put in scrapbook later is special and memorable.  Don’t forget the large maps that are displayed as you walk throughout the zoo/aquarium as well.

Animal Exhibit Signs

There are signs everywhere at a zoo, pointing out everything from different exhibits, to restaurants, to bathrooms, etc.  And most of them are colorful, bright, and written in a cool text with a fun design.  These factors all help make them memorable and fit the theme of the park.  They also have to stand up to extreme weather since they are outside 365 days a year.  In front of most animal exhibits will be informational signs that tell you about the animal’s origin, habitat, diet, etc.

Non-slip Floor Decals

Many zoos will have printed floor decals all over the walkways leading you to different exhibits or in different colors for the different paths you can take, and in the shape of animal feet.  What better way to engage children than putting something colorful and fun down on their level that they can enjoy?

Customized Philadelphia Zoo Hot Air Balloon

This one might be specific to Philadelphia but if you’ve ever driven down 76 on a busy Sunday afternoon you will have seen the Philadelphia Hot Air Balloon that flies high above the treetops.  This is a brilliant marketing tactic by the zoo, especially since they encourage people to take selfies with it and use the hashtag #6ABCZooBalloon.

Whether you realize it or not from before you even step into a zoo there are a number of printed materials making impressions on you, all working together to make sure that the message, marketing, and fun or the experience is something you won’t forget for a long time to come.
